24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Twenty Four

It's Christmas Eve! This is usually the last day the elves visit our house until the next year. They make their journey back to the North Pole to spend time with Santa and to go relax on the beach until Christmastime rolls around again.

Looking for an easy Elf on the Shelf idea? We put together a sack race using brown paper sacks and the kids' toys. Captain America wins the race, of course!

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Twenty Three

Our kiddos are HUGE dinosaur fans. Since  Jurassic World was such a hit in our home this year, we decided the elves needed a little dino adventure. We bought the oversized plastic ball at a local pet store to create the "gyrosphere" from the Jurassic World movie and surrounded it with the kids plastic dinosaurs.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Twenty Two

I love the new Elf Pets! This year, our elves Red and Holly adopted a reindeer named Jingle. She came with a fun book for the kids to read.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Twenty One

Break out the crepe paper for this one! Our Elf created a festive barrier across the bedroom door for our son to run through in the morning. This set up makes for a fun video.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Nineteen

Running out of spots in the house for Elf mischief? Don't forget the car! One day our Elf Red took Mom's car out for a joy ride. But to make up for it, he filled up Mom's gas tank. This set up can be a fun surprise for the kids when you take them to school in the morning.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Eighteen

Elves need a hearty breakfast after all the mischief they get into. Just whip up some tiny pancakes and stack them on a plate for a special Elf treat. Yum!

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Seventeen

It's a Shoe Shoe train! Just line up several pair of shoes to create a "train" through your living room with your Elf as the conductor. All aboard for fun!

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Sixteen

Well, I guess Elf didn't think our tree had enough decorations! Need a quick idea? Decorate your Christmas tree with the kiddos' underwear for a laugh.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Fifteen

Have lots of little toys, like Lego guys, on hand? Let them capture your elf! We used red ribbon to "tie" our Elf down to the table. Lots of laughs with this set up, for sure.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Fourteen

Have a clear glass on hand? It's the perfect trap for your Elf! Just draw up a little Help Me! sign and you are set.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Thirteen

Our Elf, Red, has a sister! Now he has help to watch both the kiddos during the holiday season.
Has a second Elf joined your family? Two can lead to twice the fun!

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Twelve

Silly Elf! He replaced all of our Christmas stockings hanging on the fireplace mantle with family socks.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Eleven

This set up was one of our most challenging but we really liked how it turned out. Elf is roasting marshmallows over a candle "campfire." We made a tent by folding a piece of card board and covering it with a red party napkin.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Ten

Looks like our Elf put his claim on the kids' milk. All this set up requires is a couple of markers, I used red and green to draw holly, and some food coloring to make green "Elf Milk."

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Nine

Sweet Tooth

Everyone knows the Elf has a sweet tooth. Just set up your elf in the pantry and let him sip syrup with a straw all night long. So sweet!

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Eight

Elf Wars

If you can't tell, we're Star Wars fans. One night our Elf found himself in a fierce battle.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Seven

Playing Games

Our Elf challenged Darth Vader to a round of Monopoly late one night. You could do a similar set up with any board game and another action figure or toy.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Five

That's Not a Present!

Our Elf was naughty one year and wrapped our son's play table up in Christmas wrapping paper. You could have your elf wrap up your coffee table, chair or other piece of furniture as a "fake" present.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Four

Sugar Angel

This Elf on the Shelf idea is super easy for those nights you just don't have time to come up with an elaborate scenario. If your elf's hands are still connected, you'll have to snip them apart to make a "snow" angel. Just pour some granulated sugar on the floor or counter and then swipe your elf's arms and legs in an arc to create the angel shape.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Three

Candy Cane Zip Line

This Elf on the Shelf scenario will require a small ladder, a roll of ribbon and a candy cane. Create a zip line between your Christmas tree and ceiling fan (or other tall object, such as a book shelf) and let your Elf be sliding down using a candy cane.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day Two

Do you want to build a snowman?

This idea takes a little more preparation. You'll need some crushed ice, which you will form together using your hands into tiny snowballs. I used toothpicks for arms and created a scarf from Christmas ribbon. I made the top hat out of card stock and then covered it with the same ribbon. Just place inside the freezer with your Elf for a chilly surprise.

24 Days of Elf on the Shelf Inspiration - Day One

Will the adorable (and often mischievous) Elf on the Shelf visit your home this holiday season?
If your like me, it can be a challenge to come up with new situations for the elf to get into each night to surprise the little ones the next morning. I'll share a photo of our elf's past adventures for the next 24 days to hopefully inspire you.

Merry Christmas!

Deck the Halls with Toilet Paper

Go wild with a roll of toilet paper and wrap the Christmas tree and everything around it.
Naughty elf!

Crafty Christmas - Purple and Silver Button Christmas Tree in Frame

Sure, I love making crafts for my Etsy customers. But sometimes a girl has to craft for herself! I saw super cute Christmas tree craft using buttons on Pinterest and decided to make one that matched my guest room/craft room. I started with an inexpensive 5x7 silver frame from HomeGoods that I removed the glass from.

Then I added a lavender swirl scrapbook paper that complimented the design of the frame. The buttons were the more expensive part of the project but I used a 40 percent off coupon to Joanns on a jar of assorted purple buttons. I also bought a specialty silver and crystal accent button for $2.50 to create the star on top of the tree.

Using my trusty glue gun, this is the Christmas creation I came up with. Happy crafting!

Happy Memorial Day!

"Memorial Day isn’t just about honoring veterans, its honoring those who lost their lives. Veterans had the fortune of coming home. For us, that’s a reminder of when we come home we still have a responsibility to serve. It’s a continuation of service that honors our country and those who fell defending it."
